Module.6:6/27 Sat

Hello guys,
The GLTP (Global Leadership Training Program) is a program aiming to learn about leadership with friends from around the world. In this post, we will introduce the participants’ impressions of the 6th class.

It was truly and deeply meaningful to welcome Ms. Kaori Nakamura, the vice governor of Kagoshima Pref. to our session with a key note of being a global leader. Our deepest gratitude toward her presence today!

Unbelievably, GLTP has marked 6th week and 2 remaining sessions are left toward the end. We do hope each of the participants make the best of the course and keep up with BEING LEADERS in each community. Thanks!

Hi all,
This is Ryuji Fukuhara, from tobitate the 1st term student, I am very honored to write this report for the class GLTP#6. What are written here is my short bio, my motives for GLTP and what I learnt in the class.

Short bio

I am currently a 4th year student in a university of international studies, besides I am a fortune teller lol. I can do tarot, gemstone fortune telling and dream divination.(if you want to have a fortune telling, you can ask me haha)

My motives for GLTP

Simply say, I wanted to change myself into a totally different person; I wanted to get back my motivation into me since I had experienced burnout before, and more, I wanted to improve my communication skills becauses it is essential to live in this society…

What I learnt in class GLTP#6

Today we learnt vulnerability trust again, this time, it was more focusing on it with sociological perspectives. And then ZeNn showed us an insightful game which is called ‘The Evolution of Trust’. The game concept is like the experiment of prisoners dilemma; we can choose cheat or cooperate with a black box. ZeNe wanted to challenge us to see how we behave in particular situations such as when we face difficulties. At the end of the class, we in the group were about to play an escaping RPG, as a contextual situation, we are given 17 minutes to escape from a cage, if we are not done,we’ll have an extra assignment(punishment). It is obvious that the game is not achievable in that time; simply say ZeNn wanted us to retrospect our leadership…

Inside the black box

I cannot see people’s minds even if I’m a fortune teller tho, we can expect their minds. One thing I realized as I observing the game is we(I mean human beings)return the same thing that what we have been done by the opponents: as an example, if you are cheated, you cheat back to him. In this moment, the attendants’ decision for choosing cheat or cooperate is dramatically changed because they think he is going to cheat again. Cite from that, if we lose our trust, it’ll be still harder to get it back. There are big changes in the black box when something happened outside the box. So we are kinda controlled by emotions provoked by the biases of results.

Fight or flight

There are several types of characteristics in people, depending on the circumstances: for instance, if there’s an obstacle, some will run away from that, some will tackle it. Like I said “the inside of the black box is no one knows”; it is totally up to us what action we take in particular circumstances. Kaori Nakamura san, Vice President of Kagoshima prefecture said that she change disadvantages into advantages(as a context, she was asked whether she had difficulties for being a woman leader). In short, it is up to you whether you can recognize your circumstances that will be advantages or not. So we can change the chemical effects happening in the black box by changing the way we see the world. Changing one’s view, in other words, enlightening is a job for leaders, in the meantime, if you’re about to flight way, there’s a chance that you fight against to it.

Thanks,Ryuji-san. Nice report:)
